You are dead. Somehow, you have died, whether it be from murder or a tragic accident. What a pity. You had so much potential. That's why you're here. Now listen up, because if you want to survive the upcoming days, you'll have to listen up fast.
This is the Reaper's Game. It exists in a different plane from the real world. While you can hear, see, and smell living people, they cannot do the same to you. You can't touch them either, any try goes right through them. There are many other differences in this plane as well. We'll get to them.
You are now a Player, a participant in the Reaper's Game whether you like it or not. To win, you must form a pact with another Player. The two of you will complete missions together every day for a week. If you succeed, you get the choice of returning to life, becoming a Reaper and overseeing the Games, playing again, or being Erased. If you fail, you can either be Erased and start again with a new character, or you can play the next week's game. You and your partner don't have to pick the same choice, but if your partner fails, you do too. Games happen every two weeks.
Every game day, that week's Game Master will release one mission. You and your partner have 24 hours from the time the mission is posted to complete it through posts, wandering all over the city in the process. Some have bonus objectives for points. If you fail to complete a day's mission, you fail the week.
Then there are the Reapers. The Reapers run the games. They will try to slow you down and keep you from finishing in time. They are winners of the game who chose to remain in this plane, the Underground or UG, instead of returning to life completely in the RG or Realground. There are different levels of Reapers which you can learn about in the MEMBER GROUPS thread in this board, but for now all you need to know as a Player is not to pick a fight with one and to avoid them. You can also buy some other classes in the shop that you can activate after your Player wins their game.
Did you notice a couple of Pins in your pocket? Check it. The one with the white skull is your Player Pin. Don't lose it. It allows you to imprint thoughts and ideas into the heads of living people. It also allows you to scan for Noise, the monsters that roam the Game. You will need it to complete your missions. The other pin will be different depending on who you are. These are your weapons during the game. You can earn or buy more.
You might also notice that something is missing. That was your Entry Fee. Your price to pay the game was the one thing that was the most important to you. It cannot be other people. However, it can be an item or an aspect of yourself. Don't worry. If you win a Game, you'll get it back. If you choose to play again after winning, your new Entry Fee will be taken.
One last warning, some people will do anything to return to life, or to keep you from that goal. Be on your guard. And remember, YOU HAVE SEVEN DAYS.
